  2. As the games from Capitol One’s Bowl Week take over my TV, I am warmed to hear that the players are not only doing good things on the field but also off the field as well. On Wednesday, at a Lawry’s sponsored dinner for the Oregon Ducks in Pasadena, CA offensive lineman Mark Asper did the Heimlich Maneuver, saving a man who was choking on a piece of steak.
    The senior linesman accredited his quick reaction to his time as an Eagle Scout. This great story for college football, but even better for the Boy Scouts… As soon as my 7 year-old brother heard that Mike Asper was a boy scout, he was ready to sign up! I am sure that he wasn’t the only kid intrigued about becoming a boy scout. If your child/brother/cousin has sparked interest in becoming a scout check out http://www.scouting.org/sitecore/content/Home/Membership.aspx for more information.
  3. What a great story, the Boy Scouts have a great tradition in the US and teach a lot of life lessons to our youth.

  4. Boy Scout’s Oath

    On my honor, I will do my best

    To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
    To help other people at all times;
    To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
