Last evening A-listers took to the red carpet for MTV’s Annual Video Music Award Show held at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, CA. Jam-packed with performances by 2 Chainz, Pink, Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys, and Taylor Swift, to name a few, viewers were treated with what felt like an epic concert.
The house DJ Calvin Harris kept the house music flowing, as Kevin Hart took the audience on a LOL-worthy journey through the previous year in the entertainment industry. He made it clear that no one was safe and added some comic relief to the recent headline that spoke of a disagreement between Chris Brown and Drake.
Newcomers One Direction not only had their legion of young girls piercing ears outside of the Staple Center but also stole the show by taking an impressive three coveted Moonmen home. No stranger to the Moonman Rihanna took home the biggest award of the evening, Video of the Year, after opening this years show with the song that adorned the video.
MTV also paid homage to the end of two eras at this years show. America’s favorite guidos and guidettes announced that the sixth season of the reality show, The Jersey Shore, would be it’s last. A video montage of five crazy seasons was played to highlight the highs and lows in the Jersey Shore house. Twilight fans of both Team Jacob and Team Edward got a sneak peak into the final installment of the saga.
